I recently read Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. I really liked it. Most of her ideas are really cool; some maybe not so much. I can see where narrow-minded, short-sighted people would take those ideas and run in stupid directions. Pop-Cultural Indoctrination

This could go a hundred ways, for a hundred pages. I’ll be brief. We are indoctrinated by pop culture. I find myself realizing that a lot of my ideas on right, wrong, how to conduct myself, what’s moral etc. come from movies I’ve watched. Movies are made by men and women. You know when you’ve been going through life, doing your thing, and are mostly unconsciously fed up with people and the way things work, or at least mildly disappointed in them? Then you meet someone who is just impressive in the way they communicate honestly, in how they conduct themselves through life? And it gives you hope? I like that.
